Biden's Post-Presidency, MS-13 Caucus, Anti-DOGE Deity, and Trump's Delusion
The Week in Editorial Cartoons
This week, in addition to including a sampling of recent cartoons, I’ve dropped an old gag cartoon at the end (when you see it, note pun intended) from a decade or two ago.
No One’s Buying What Biden’s Selling
Illegal immigrant border encounters under Biden peaked at a wild 250,000/month a couple of years ago! By February 2025, the number plummeted to a measly 8,000, and this was obviously done through the current administration’s very deliberate border control efforts.
In contrast, Biden’s controls included mostly stitching together a massive welcome mat along the southern border. But also very deliberate.
No surprise that Biden’s not getting many buyers for a post-presidential enlightenment opportunity through the 46th president’s $300k speaking engagements.

Democrats’ MS-13 Caucus
The Democrats are so obsessed with nitpicking Trump’s every move that they’ve started throwing support behind illegal immigrant gang members, proclaiming them the newest stars of their "big tent" circus.
Problem is, the tent’s getting awfully cramped with criminals hogging the spotlight, leaving the victims stuck outside, and even disinvited from the "inclusive" victim-shaming afterparty.
The Anti-DOGE Deity
When we think of bureaucracy, words like efficiency and necessity generally don’t come to mind. Most believe that this bad rap is earned. Which is probably why the sentence, “the bureaucracy in this place is really great”, has never been said.
Suddenly, bureaucracy’s the belle of the ball, worth burning Teslas over and protected like it’s the last panda on Earth.
This one made the most recent edition of Politico’s Cartoon Carousel.
Negotiations with Iran or Just a Delusion
Trump went from threatening to destroy every unstable atom Iran is trying to separate to thinking he's on the verge of a bromance with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and ending their nuclear weapons ambitions.
Hello Trump, Obama called. He’d like his nuclear nonproliferation strategy back.
Blast from the Past
And now for something completely different. On a few occasions years ago, I tried my hand at gag cartoons on very general topics. These didn’t get much traction other than a few appearing in the Georgia Tech student newspaper The Technique or in random cartooning competitions. Here’s one cartoon that I’m sure very few have ever seen.
A wider range of my work can be found at Goodwyn Cartoons and Illustrations.
Thanks for reading. Comments and sharing welcomed.
You are so quotable! “ Suddenly, bureaucracy’s the belle of the ball, worth burning Teslas over and protected like it’s the last panda on Earth.”
Great stuff Al.
