Easter, Bluesky Violence, Judge Boasberg's Stretch, and Iran Threatened with Trump Card
The Week in Editorial Cartoons
Happy Easter
He has risen indeed!
Bluesky Violence
Pop 'guillotine' into Bluesky’s search bar, and you’ll be shocked, or maybe by now just mildly amused, at how often the word cuts through the site’s feed. Next toss in 'Molotov cocktail' for good measure, pun fully intended.
These keyboard terrorists hope their fiery fever dreams will torch every last trace of Trump’s orange glow from their conscience. Apparently Bluesky has no problem offering a safe space for them to console each other with these “democracy-saving” fantasies.
Judge Boasberg’s Stretch
Judge Boasberg, the robe-wearing maverick who thought he could moonlight as an air traffic controller for the Executive Branch. Then the Supreme Court stepped in to remind him that his courtroom isn’t the Situation Room.
His bold attempt to play Commander-in-Chief got a swift 5-4 smackdown, with the justices telling him to, “Stick to your day joy and quit redirecting international flights.”
Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions
Not only does Trump have the military as his trump card against Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but he also has multiple decks of military weapons.
Meanwhile, Iran’s hand is one Uno card that lets them choose their casket color.
Blast from the Past
North Korea conducted it’s first nuclear test in 2006 that resulted in a bit of a fizzle, hence this cartoon of Kim Jong Il at the time. Unfortunately they were to go on to have several successful tests, the last being in 2017 with strength estimates over 10 times that of the Hiroshima detonation during WWII.
Thanks for reading. Comments and sharing welcomed.
The artwork is stellar; I like the wee commentary - not a lesson, but a thought-provoker as in ‘there’s so
much detail everywhere else, it’s kind of a relief to just use my own thinking process to wonder about this’ ..
