Memorial Day, White House Elder Abuse, Schumer Reaches, and the Media Turn Away from Elder Abuse
Welcome to your Friday.
Before the weather gets too warm, I moved my office outside and enjoyed cartooning with a view. Highs in the mid 70’s. Perfect.
Memorial Day
Remembering why we remember; 1.3 million US citizens serving in our military have lost their lives in conflict.
White House Elder Abuse
If the White House’s intent was to garner sympathy for Biden with the revelation that he has cancer, then they’ve succeeded.
However, it’s not only for the devastating diagnosis, but by withholding his condition, they’ve proven that elder abuse is a line worth crossing in a calculating and desperate attempt to maintain power. Damn the senility, damn the cancer, the presidency’s on the line.
Schumer Reaches
It’s like Chuck Schumer wakes up every day and peruses the news through his how-can-we-make-this-Trump’s-fault filter.
- More California fire destruction? Blame DOGE cuts to fire fighting budgets.
- Alien invasion in your backyard? DOGE is ignoring wasteful Mars subsidies.
- Your pizza delivery’s late? Pepperoni tariffs no doubt.
- Your socks keep disappearing in the laundry? Tax breaks for Big Dryer Lint.
- Coffee shop ran out of oat milk? Trade policies clearly disadvantage New Guinea oat milking tribes.
No matter the problem, Chuck is ready to assemble Democrats for a rousing game of pin the excuse on a Republican. Or as he calls it, reaching across the aisle.
The Fourth Estate?
The coverup of Biden’s condition is arguably a much more significant scandal than even Watergate. Nixon’s involved covering up a single event and included obstruction of justice, both bad.
This current scandal, however, significantly overshadows Watergate. You had an addled president, whose condition was covered up by the White House, with the Democratic party being complicit in the coverup as was our unofficial fourth branch of government, the media.
Blast from the Past
This 2013 cartoon was way back before we’d forgotten what a woman was, but we had forgotten what it meant to have a red line. In this case it was Obama’s red line on Syria’s use of chemical weapons. Assad's crossed that line on August 21, 2013 with the use of sarin gas, killing over a thousand civilians including hundreds of children.
Have a great weekend.
Great view from your outdoor office
Oh boy, that ever moving red line from weenie BHO still angers me, he had so many ways of degrading our military & destroying our national pride Thinking back to how upset I was about BHO’s Middle East apology tours What a difference a POTUS makes !
Thank you for the Memorial Day illustration
