The Week in Cartoons
This week’s Blast from the Past at the bottom of this newsletter goes back a mere two years and points out how my unrealized psychic abilities at the time noted a certain Maryland dad and his link to human trafficking.
Israel Acts
As far as Iran goes, I’m definitely in the no nukes camp.
This seems different than previous escalations in the region, or maybe that’s just the fog of a new war. Much, much more to come.
Father’s Day
A day to celebrate those who provide a supportive, unconditional presence encouraging resiliency.
Herding Cats
Trump and Musk have reduced the temperature a bit, but the back and forth was a bit distracting considering all of the issues currently occupying the Executive Branch.
The Politburo
Was it appropriate to play “Hail to the Chief” when the cardboard cut out is brought on stage?
Blast from the Past
This cartoon of mine was from 2023 and highlighted those who were likely to be appreciative of open borders. Looking back earlier this week, I realized that the human trafficker looked a lot like a certain Maryland dad.
When this cartoon was published two years ago I happened to be with several dozen editorial cartoonists on the west coast. A small group of us were chatting and one of the more liberal editorial cartoonists tried to explain why my cartoon was full of lies. No one in our small group of mostly liberal cartoonists was buying it.
He then moved on to what he thought was a convincing argument that walls are racist. When he couldn’t get those in earshot to agree, he desperately went from person to person throughout the larger group unsuccessfully pleading for agreement.
I never saw him after that. I believe he ended up in a discarded homeless tent along the San Francisco waterfront babbling to himself.
