The good, the bad, the ugly, and the scary… which is which?

Days Numbered?

The nation’s tired of forever wars, but where we see the loss of human lives, economic drain, and weakened civil liberties, there’s also a flip side, a side that perhaps doesn’t root for war but does experience its benefits. These include defense contractors, geopolitical strategists, security firms, politicians, and even the media since bad news sells.

Trump, on the other hand, is clearly tired of wars. On his ride down the Peace Highway, he’s found himself at the Nuclear Iran crossroad. An intersection that allows little room for the Art of the Deal. It also allows for little room for indecision, and a lot of demand for urgency.

Prepare for historic days, hours, and minutes in the very near future.

HALT Fentanyl

Put your skepticism aside for a moment, here’s some rather amazing news. A bill actually passed both the House and the Senate with support from Republicans and Democrats. There were even other bills that passed the House last week with bipartisan support:

• proof of citizenship for certain Small Business Administration loans,

• cargo of the Department of Transportation to be shipped on US-owned ships,

• Washington, D.C. government to comply with requests from federal immigration authorities to share information and detain non-U.S. nationals,

• prohibition of collective bargaining on matters of DC police discipline, and

• prohibition of individuals who are not citizens of the US from voting in DC.

It’s a little early to recalibrate the skepticism meter, though. Politicians have earned our wariness.

Also the Media

The Fourth Estate is no longer up to the task of having watchdog status. The Doberman has lost teeth, eyesight, and respect, and now sits on the front porch with the ferocity of a sloth and half the energy.

Violent Rhetoric

This was likely only slightly reported in the news so you may have overlooked it with all of the other bad Democrat behavior recently, but one seemingly called for the beheading of our current president. I self-censored this cartoon but the original image posted by this cretin included the detached head of Trump.
